We are now looking for a social educator who wants to be part of our dedicated team at Själevadskolan.

Själevadskolan is a F–9 school where the 7-9 section has about 230 students. Our school units are located in the scenic Själevad – between Själevadsfjärden and Veckefjärden, just 6 km from central Örnsköldsvik.

Job Responsibilities

As a social educator at Själevadskolan, you will work to create a safe and supportive school environment where all students feel seen and included by preventing and managing social challenges. You also play an important role in the promotional and preventive work to ensure that all students are present in school.

In your daily work, the social educator collaborates with teachers and student health staff to strengthen the social learning environment. You will also be responsible for conducting surveys regarding absenteeism and planning and implementing activities in the school based on needs. You will work to support individual students to empower them in school.

In addition to direct work with students, daily tasks will include collaborating with guardians, school teachers, student health teams, and safety teams. Contact with the police, social services, and child and adolescent psychiatry may also be relevant.

Focus will be on:

• being a safe adult in the school and being available for students
• supporting students with absenteeism issues
• catching early signals
• mapping needs
• reviewing future measures needed in the unit

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in social pedagogy, such as a social worker or similar, or other education deemed relevant for the job.

You are a calm and stable person who is comfortable in various contexts. You are attentive, independent, take responsibility, and are engaged. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
